Melting the Cage: Tips for Responding Instead of Reacting

Before replying in a charged moment...

Melt the Cage Made of Framing Words

In everyday life, how reactive we are in different circumstances will fluctuate. Setting up our day with positive thoughts as we wake will soften the entire day's vibrations. But moments arise that trigger a reaction, and it is super hard not to respond, especially when a sore spot is touched emotionally. This is when the body might tighten, and old evidence from similar past situations will surface, leading to thoughts and then sentences. If we don't pause, we might blurt it out before fully comprehending what just happened.

If we react verbally from the old imprint, our reaction enters the other person’s field, touches their own old evidence, and starts a thought leading to a sentence arising in them. Soon, two people are no longer responding to one moment, but find themselves caught in a tangle of defending inner worlds which may or may not actually have anything to do with the other person originally.

Thus, a conflict is sometimes both people trying not to be caged by the other person’s idea of them, while simultaneously and possibly unknowingly building a cage around the other person in return.

What if the pause before responding is not simply about “calming down”? What if it is an opportunity to see "the frame" forming, and melt it before it escalates into vibrations that create sentences both people cast by spelling hurtful words? What comes next is the consequence of being a God Being in a body. Just because we're upset, the universe doesn't edit out our vibrations and put them in the 'don't manifest this' pile.

This is literally how more karma gets created.

Since we're on the inward breath of God homeward now, we're beginning to catch these karmic conundrums in their tracks, rather than plowing full steam ahead into more cascading compounded momentum towards unwanted reality expressions.

What happens if we pause before we 'frame' ourselves or others, creating a cage we then both have to live in?

Forgiveness, in this sense, is not saying that nothing happened or that the other person wasn't seeing us in a limited way that we reacted against. It's also not dropping a needed boundary if there is one, or making ourselves smaller to avoid a conflict.

By "melting the frame," we are deleting the data in our subconscious that insists:

• "This is just who you are."

• "This is just who I am."

• "This is what this always means."

• "This is how it always ends"

or other similar cagey beliefs appearing as reality.

When we allow a 'pregnant pause' before responding when a trigger arises, we can notice what ancient traditions have discussed in depth over the eons in our current-day lived experience.

  1. An impression arises as an image-based knowing.
  2. Thoughts begin to form around them.
  3. The mind then forms 'sentences' based on past experiences it thinks are similar.

In my new post, The Frame is the Cage: Overcoming Karmic Impulse Moment by Moment I explore the movement from trigger to judgment to sentence; karma as compounded momentum; the difference between reaction and response; Ho‘oponopono and “cleaning”; and why an unfinished sentence can leave room for something truer.

Check it out. I'd love to know if you found it helpful.

What does ego dissolution really mean? Did we overcomplicate the idea of detachment from ego? By dissolution of the 'self' or 'ego,' we mean the dissolution of identification with the conditioning of the mind. When we no longer identify with the conditioned beliefs about ourselves, the world and one another, then it is no longer possible to take things poisonally. That's right. When we are 'unconditioned,' we simply see life as it is, and experience peace. When we make things 'mean...

Shareable Waves & Nested Interlocking Reality Fields Co-creating Reality Fields Is One of the Big Reasons We Came To Earth Within our larger world are countless smaller “shared reality fields”: families, friendships, communities, political identities, professions, cultures, relationships, spiritual paths, emotional states, and internal belief systems. These fields overlap and interact continuously. We may belong to several of them at once. In my latest article, I call this an interlocking...

How Do We Navigate the Spoken Social Sphere with Greater Coherence and Compassion? Awareness and Attention: Sovereignty, Dominance & Shared Realities I woke up this morning thinking about a recent interaction where a well-meaning person simply couldn't stop sharing anecdotes and dominated the conversation, even after I mentioned we were trying to focus on something else. The truth is, we can all likely recall instances where we were so bursting to share that we may have overridden cues, and...
